Rodan+Fields Journey

I’m coming to the end of my six month bonus period (Thursday at 11:59 PDT to be exact), and I’m just one consultant away from $7,000!  I’m confident I’ll get there…in fact, I’ve been on the phone all day setting appointments for this week.  I may have up to 3 or more by Thursday!  God is GOOD!  I even received a surprise email today from a new retail customer, which may convert to a consultant after she uses the products and finds out she loves them!

I missed our Monday meeting tonight so I could be with Will at football practice and then cook mushroom soup and watch Nacho Libre with him tonight…it was fun, we laughed, we ate soup and we spent quality time together!  What could be more awesome than that?

I’m loving my life more and more every day…awesome son, awesome God, awesome home, incredible neighbors, great family, wonderful friends, and an amazing new career that has caught me by surprise…I love what I do for the first time!  WOW.  So what’s left?  Let’s see…a healthy, fit body…an amazing partner, best friend and husband.  I think that would be the icing on the cake.  We’ll see if God agrees! :-)

My story is being featured this month on Rodan+Fields’ website.  I’ve just promoted to Level 5, which is the top position in our company…and it’s been such an incredible journey!  God has blessed my business and has brought so many incredible people into my life through it!  You can read my story HERE.

I’ve just launched a new website where prospective business partners and customers can learn more about Rodan+Fields and submit their request for an interview.  Very cool stuff!  Check it out:  www.IncredibleSkinCare.net

I just found out tonight that I have promoted to Level 5 in Rodan+Fields!  It’s the highest level in the company and on the compensation plan!  I’m elated!!!!  I’ve said it before, but it bears repeating…if I can do this ANYONE can do it!  I’ve defied the odds!!!  God is so good and so faithful!

Now that I’m here, there’s so much to do…develop other leaders, find new leaders to join my team, and continue developming my own leadership skills.  This truly is one of the most fun experiences of my life…what a great life I’m creating for myself!

I’ve just begun…there’s much to do…Lord, strengthen and use me for Your glory every step of the way!

I’m utterly ashamed that it’s been so long since my last post…and oh so much has happened.  Let’s see, shall I recap rather than bore you with every detail?????

  • I reconnected with the man I was in love with for 2 years…he’s in a relationship, but totally lead me on for a month and a half, then I told him to go away
  • A snake got into my garage and thankfully the neighbor came and killed it with a shovel…I just HOPEFULLY got rid of another snake behind the waterfall of my pond by throwing mothballs all over the place…and now my house smells like…MOTHBALLS
  • My Rodan+Fields business is booming…I’ve promoted to Level IV and have over 200 in my organization.  It’s absolutely amazing and I’m having a blast
  • Will finishes 2nd grade this coming Friday
  • I rewarded myself with a new dresser for my bedroom…my first since 2003!
  • I earned the first $3,000 of the $10,000 bonus with Rodan+Fields…should be in my checking account any day now!
  • God is good…and continues to blow me away with His favor, His blessing and His incredible grace
  • Since arm surgery in January, I have the least amount of pain I’ve had since 2006…and I’m absolutely thrilled beyond measure
  • I need to lose 40 pounds…thanks to 3 months of recovery and a whole lot of junk food

So I’m plugging along, busy as ever and enjoying life more than I have in a long time.  Thank you, Lord, for another chance at happiness and contentment!  I’m closer than I’ve been in a long time.

Oh…did I mention I think I’ve found a new church home?  Grace Chapel in Leiper’s Fork…wow, what a breath of fresh air…authentic and the teaching is so awesome!  What a blessing!!!  And Will even likes the Kids Chapel!  :-)   Good stuff.  Really good.

Here we are on the eve of April and I’m in awe of what God is doing with my business through Rodan+Fields!  I started on February 1 with a team of 5 and as of tonight there are over 40 in my organization!  That is INCREDIBLE!!!!  I can only give credit where it’s due…and God gets all the glory for this success!

The people who are joining my team are some of the best people around…what a great culture we’re creating for the infrastructure of this company!

This week is crazy as we prepare for the arrival fo the Doctrs on Friday.  They’ll be speaking at the Nashville Southern Women’s Show but, most importantly, the’re our special guests to help us officially launch Nashville’s market for Rodan+Fields.  It is a huge opportunity to meet the docs in person, but when they leave here, everyone will know about the company!  It’s such an exciting time for us!!!

God is changing me and my life with Rodan+Fields…if only everyone recognized this opportunity before it goes away.  WOW…Thank you Lord for such an amazing blessing!!!!

What a nice day it’s been…

  • Absolutely the most perfect weather
  • Precious son
  • A new customer
  • 2 New business partners
  • Lunch with sweet business partners and friends
  • Cake and Gifts from friends
  • Extra time with Will (tummy ache took him out of school a couple hours early)
  • Car wash
  • Incredible lilies from Publix (thank you self!)
  • Flowers from the neighbors
  • Dinner on mom and dad at Outback with Will
  • Relaxing evening

I’m not sure it gets much better than that…thanks, LORD for the sweet friends and family in my life.  I felt really special today…all day! :-)

Increased pressure leads to more adult acne

Wednesday, March 18, 2009

(03-18) 04:00 PDT New York

Here’s another bump in the landscape of economic meltdown: adult acne.

Stress is a leading cause of breakouts, and there’s no shortage of that these days in the Oakland office of Dr. Katie Rodan. Many of her clients are either in the financial field or have husbands who are.

Meanwhile, Manhattan dermatologist Cheryl Karcher is performing far fewer liposuctions or Botox injections but is seeing more patients than ever. “They’re all insurance patients for eczema, acne and warts; they’re all another hit from the immune system,” she says.

Karcher explains that the nervous system and hormone systems work together. “They are tightly intertwined, and the nervous system is stimulated by stress. … I am seeing more acne than you can believe.”

Dr. Kathy Fields points to a Stanford University study from 2002 that found students had more severe acne during exam periods than other times of the year.

Makeup can be a quick fix without exasperating the problem. Rodan says mineral makeup is OK and some concealing products contain salicylic acid, which would mean that if some makeup is creeping into the pores, some medicine is going with it.

Still, it’s easier to minimize acne if you get to it before it’s fully developed, she says.

If you’re not sleeping or if you find yourself picking at your skin even before a pimple appears, she says, you might be helping to trigger a breakout. Instead, use an anti-acne product and manage the stress.

“Try a yoga class,” Rodan suggests.

“If you’re so stressed that it’s affecting your skin, then it’s affecting the rest of your body,” Karcher adds. “It would be a disservice if you’re just treating your acne, although you do want to treat it. Not doing it would cause even more stress.”

Karcher recommends over-the-counter products with salicylic acid or glycolic acid, which can help unclog pores. If pimples are already visible – and especially if you have an upcoming event for which you feel appearance matters, such as a job interview – consider a cortisone injection at a dermatologist’s office, Fields says, or try over-the-counter cortisone products.

If there’s still no improvement then it’s time for benzoyl peroxide, Rodan says.

The single-worst thing you could do, according to Rodan is pop your pimples. “Infections also increase when cortisol levels are high and wound healing slows down.”

I actually woke up at 5am yesterday morning talking out loud…presenting the Rodan+Fields business opportunity!  I’m literally eating, breathing and sleeping this business!  It is so much fun and such an exciting time that I can’t get my mind off of it!  There are still so many people to tell, I don’t think I’ll ever run out of places and people!!!  That just blows my mind!
